This is the easiest, best recipe to make pizza dough. With just some simple ingredients and no fancy flours required (we have included instructions for using all-purpose or bread flour), this pizza crust requires just one bowl (no stand mixer, though you can use one if you would like), about 3 seconds of kneading, and just 30 minutes to rise. 

Pizza Dough Ingredients:

  • 375ml (1 1/2 cups) warm water
  • Pinch of caster sugar
  • 2 tsp (7g/1 sachet) dried yeast
  • 600g (4 cups) plain flour, plus extra for dusting
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 60ml (1/4 cup) olive oil, plus extra for brushing


Step 1: Combine the water, yeast, and sugar in a small bowl. Set aside for 5 minutes or until foamy. Combine the flour and salt in a large bowl and make a well in the center. Add the yeast mixture and oil. Use a round-bladed knife in a cutting motion to mix until the mixture is combined. Use your hands to bring the dough together in the bowl.

Step 2: Brush a bowl lightly with olive oil. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 10 minutes or until smooth and elastic. Place in the prepared bowl and turn to coat in olive oil. Cover with plastic wrap and set aside in a warm, draught-free place to rise for 30 minutes or until dough doubles in size.

Step 3: Dust work surface with flour. Knead dough and form into a long cylinder. Divide into thirds. Use a rolling pin to roll each third into a 20cm disc, then add your favorite toppings and bake.


This pizza dough recipe is very simple and only takes about 10 minutes to prepare. I make mine in the food processor, but it is not essential. If you don’t have a food processor, make a well in the flour and salt and pour the liquids into the center. Work with your fingers, gradually adding dry ingredients to the liquids. What is important is to get a soft dough and to let it rise in a warm place. Freezes well.

  1. Preheat the oven as high as your oven will allow, between 450-500˚F (230-260˚C). Place a pizza stone, heavy baking sheet (turn upside down so the surface is flat), or cast-iron skillet in the oven. Line the bottom with parchment paper, so it does not stick to the oven.
  2. Meanwhile, make the tomato sauce: Add the salt to the can of tomatoes and puree with an immersion blender, or transfer to a blender or food processor, and puree until smooth.
  3. Once the pizza dough has rested, take a portion and start by poking the surface with your fingertips, until bubbles form and do not deflate.
  4. Then, stretch and press the dough into a thin round. Make it thinner than you think it should be, as it will slightly shrink and puff up during baking.
  5. Sprinkle semolina onto an upside-down baking sheet and place the stretched crust onto it. Add the sauce and ingredients of your choice.
  6. Slide the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or pan. Bake for 15 minutes, or until the crust and cheese are golden brown.
  7. Add any garnish of your preference.
  8. Enjoy your homemade pizza!

2. Pizza without Oven Recipe

This homemade pizza recipe is an easy method to make pizza at home without an oven by using a pizza pan. Not everyone has an oven at home. So using this recipe, you can easily make pizza without an oven at home.


  1. Chop the veggies and take them in a bowl. You can use your choice of veggies. (We have optionally used onion, red bell pepper, and tomatoes). The toppings are for 3 small-sized pizzas.
  2. Add 1 teaspoon finely chopped garlic, 1 tablespoon chopped basil leaves, 1 teaspoon dried oregano.
  3. Season with 1/8 teaspoon salt or add as required.
  4. Add 1 tablespoon olive oil.
  5. Mix very well and marinate the veggies for 15 to 20 minutes. Also, grate the cheese and keep ready.

Rolling pizza dough

  1. Before making the pizza, knead the dough again.
  2. Take the veg pizza dough and divide it into 5 equal parts.
  3. Take one part and roll it well between your palms. Flatten and keep on the rolling board. Sprinkle some flour.
  4. With a rolling pin, gently roll to a slightly thin round pizza. Roll to get a 0.3 to 0.5 cm thickness. Sprinkle some more flour if required while rolling.

Assembling and making

Step 1: Heat a pizza pan and brush or spread some olive oil on it.

Step 2: Now gently place the pizza on the pan. Keep the flame to a low or sim and cook the pizza.

Step 3: When you see bubbles coming on it, and the base has become golden, then flip. Now quickly spread the pizza sauce on this cooked side of the pizza.

Step 4: Sprinkle grated pizza cheese or mozzarella cheese. You can add cheese as required. Top up pizza with the marinated veggies. At the same time, adding place the onions, tomatoes, bell peppers first, and then drizzle a bit of the marinated oil and juices mixture all over. Cover with a lid and let the pizza cook on a low flame or sim. Cook pizza till the base becomes golden and crisp, and the cheese is melted.

Step 5: Remove and serve pizza hot or warm with tomatoes sauce. You can also sprinkle red chili flakes on top of the pizza while serving.
